Taste MIGF, the exciting preview event of MIGF, will be held on Saturday, 5th and Sunday, 6th September at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

At Taste MIGF, food lovers can enjoy sampling portions from the Festival menus at the specially created Theatre of Cuisines. An array of cooking classes and lifestyle workshops will take place throughout the preview event, conducted by top professionals that are recognised experts in their respective fields.

Many of the Festival Master Chefs will share their culinary secrets! Wine and cigar appreciation classes offer the same opportunity, as well as a wide range of modern lifestyle and well-being workshops. There’s something for everyone here.

Enjoy A Super Gourmet Safari at the Theatre of Cuisines

At the Theatre of Cuisines, where the Festival restaurants are showcased, visitors can enjoy a Super Gourmet Safari using Gourmet dollars that can be purchased in advance online or bought at the venue on the day of the day itself. Tasting samples are big enough to satisfy, yet small enough to leave room to try as many restaurants as possible.

The Super Gourmet Safari is a value-for-money feature that allows visitors to taste dishes from all the Festival menus and get a better idea of what is being served up at the 25 participating restaurants. This way they will be able to decide on which restaurants they would want to visit during the Festival month of October.

Get your Gourmet Dollars first

To go on your Super Gourmet Safari, you will need Gourmet Dollars that have been created for the convenience of the visitor. Gourmet Dollars help minimise queues and delays as people then wouldn’t have to wait for their change.

Gourmet Dollars will be available on the day of the event itself but can also be purchased online at a 5% discount. Visitors can visit www.tastemigf.com to purchase.

Epicure Gourmet Village

Visitors can shop at the Epicure International Gourmet Village where gourmet food and beverage vendors sell everything from fine wines to exquisite cheeses, as well as a wealth of mouthwatering delicacies from around the world.

Epicure Lifestyle Workshops

At the Epicure Lifestyle Workshops, some 40 appreciation workshops and cooking classes are conducted back to back, from noon till evening, on 5th and 6th September.

The cooking classes are conducted by Festival Master Chefs and guest chefs from 5-star hotels while appreciation classes are facilitated by top notch experts in their respective fields, sharing their knowledge with visitors at Taste MIGF.

Headlining the workshops is the charismatic Chef Wan, who will charm visitors not only with the exquisite Malaysian fare he prepares but also with his delightful personality.

LuxuryPlus Showcase

Taste MIGF 2015 will also include the LuxuryPlus Showcase. From high end art pieces to tableware to jewellery, the showcase highlights the finest luxurious lifestyle options. The diverse list of exhibitors includes the Tourism Board, art studios, and manufacturers of jewellery, fine silver flatware and home accessories.

Now into its 15th year, the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) has long since come to symbolise prestige and innovation in the culinary world. The Festival is today a national event and part of Tourism Malaysia’s Malaysia Year of Festivals 2015 or MyFest2015.

Every year, Festival Restaurants generate annual receipts worth millions but the trickle-down effect of the Festival extends far beyond this. MIGF impacts the entire F&B industry as well as raising the bar each year by fostering friendly competition between the market leaders. The participating restaurants include those from Kuala Lumpur’s 5-Star hotels - The Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s Iketeru and Graze; the Renaissance’s Dynasty; Resorts World Genting’s L’TITUDE, Imperial Rama and The Olive; Shangri-La’s Lafite and Shang Palace; Westin KL’s Qba Latin Bar & Grill and Berjaya Times Square Hotel’s, Samplings On The Fourteenth.

The independent restaurants feature Aliyaa, Busaba Thai, Dewakan, Enak KL, Maison Francaise, Marini’s on 57, Minori, Neroteca, Nerovivo, Ruyi & Lyn, Soleil, Tanzini, The Oak Room, Vineria.IT, Zender’s Restaurant & Bar and Yezi.

The Festival’s Principle Partner is Tourism Malaysia and main sponsor, The Vision Four Media Group. Festival Sponsors are William Grant & Sons and Fifty Six Degrees. Festival Media Partners are Astro, Astro Radio, Asian Food Channel, Seni Jaya, Vision Four and Vision KL.
