1898 SARTORI DI VERONA WINE TASTING | PORTOFINO RISTORANTE ITALIANO @ LUCKY GARDEN, BANGSAR

Ciao!

After a brief respite from whisky tasting and wine pairing due to several trips of late (which I shall share soon), we were delighted to be back again to the sensuouswine and dine scene, this time around at the authentic Italian ristorante of Portofino, located at Lucky Garden, Bangsar for 1898 Sartori di Verona Wine Tasting Dinner.

The premise holds a huge, captivating signage that one would find it hardly miss whenever you are in the vicinity of the ever thriving neighbourhood.

Once entered, patrons would be greeted with a warm, inviting ambiance of dimmed lightings and the options whether to have a few tipples at the first floor or a more spacious dinning at the upper floor.

In conjunction with the night of Sartori di Verona wine appreciation, our gastronomic session was graced by Mr. Alberto Orengia, the Asia Area Manager of Sartori di Verona, who came all the way from Italy, to enlighten and share with us the aesthetic, vintage values from ancient Valpolicella winery that is elevated by innovation and driven by earnest dedication.

Piacere!
Mr. Alberto Orengia

5 specially selected wines were featured by its vintner that evening, accompanied with sumptuous buffet-style dinner that features signatures from Portofino Ristorante Italiano ranging from its famous Pizza 4 Formaggi, Salad, Risotto,   Pasta, Cordon Bleu Chicken to Braised Lamb and rounded up on a sweet note with moreish crème brulee.

Soft-pressing with skin maceration for 8-10 days at controlled temperature.
Aging for 3 months in large oak casks and stainless steel tanks.
Ruby red colour; delicate fruit aromas; well balanced and supple, with black fruit flavours.

SARTORI ROSSO VERONESE IGT “REGOLO” 2012
Ruby red colours with garnet hues; intense and persistent aromas on the palate, full bodied, dry and velvety, with blackberry flavor and dried fruit on the lingering finish.

SARTORI CLASSICO AMARONE DOCG “REJUS” 2010
The carefully selected grapes are put in small plastic crates and dried in ventilated rooms for about 3 months.
Intense red in colour with shades of gernet; alluring aromas of red fruit jam full, velvety body and hints of spice on the finish.

All in all, they were simply tantalizing in tickling the palates of the crowds the amusing way.

Salute!

It was indeed another fabulous evening of refined epicurean gatherings that further enhanced the virtues of these exquisite and fine wine selections from northeast Italy's Veneto region. Grazie mille !
