TRAVEL DAY 4 – THE PEAK LOOKOUT | 5D 4 N @ HONG KONG & MACAU

After jamming together with the rest of the crowd who is also visiting The Peak and enjoying the mesmerizing sunset view before followed by beautiful night scene of panoramic Hong Kong, the tummy start drumming and that’s when we realized that we have passed our dinner time, haha.

So to fix the hunger pangs in a jiffy while hoping the throngs of people queuing for the only tram to go back down town subside, we decided to settle our meal there and soon head over to The Peak Look Out restaurant as recommended by the cool Romeo (=

It was indeed a very nice place to chill out, with soothing environment drenching in warm lights, much more sensuously appealing especially when gentle breeze comes brushing by. As the sun has set, thus rendering the surrounding hill area tad dark, but The Peak Lookout is brilliant enough to make the best use of it- by decorating and illuminating the enclave with soft candle lights, assisted by some dainty LED lights that are dangling on the trees around. Pretty cool idea, really……………

The Peak Lookout is located on the landmark of the Peak, with an open terrace overlooking Aberdeen. The restaurant retains the History of the 19th Century, when the city was not so affluent, with nostalgic interior design and a wonderful collection of old photographs. Over here, guests can expect fine food savoured in an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance with a warm welcome and friendly service.

And so, after appreciating the place visually, our food came after awhile. As my poor Lumix has run out of battery that evening, so we could only make do with handphone camera as assistant light, hence please bear with the slightly uneven chrome in the picture, hehe.

Have a yen for risotto and anything cooked the confit way? (=
Alright, the latter’s garnishment might need some improvement I suppose, hehe.

The risotto is really good I must say. As how the Italians enjoyed their homey food traditionally, the risotto rice is well-cooked till 70% to retain that texture appropriately and cooked with the right creaminess. Decent amount of grated cheese block was added to enhance the flavor, further enriching the mushroom taste.

Thanks for all the wonderful arrangements of the places to visit and dine, albeit made at the eleventh hour as we wish to just go with the flow, instead of just rushing everything at one go. Guess it was a case of blessed serendipity.

If given a chance, would love to come back again but preferably during the day time. I think……….given the bounteous natural lights and set within lush greeneries, the photos would have been much greater and looks lovelier! As Doris Day says que sera, sera ………

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
